Power 2 You was founded in 2015 by Lochlan and Tim with a vision to provide a trade service that was reliable, honest and reasonably priced – something they felt was missing in the industry. With over 25 years combined experience in the trade, there is no project too big or small that they can’t tackle with quality assurance.
Power 2 You have specialists available in Lighting Protection, Surge Protection, Complex Earthing Solutions, Level 2 Works, Level 1 Works (overhead and underground), Cable Jointing Telecommunications. Lochlan and Tim are also trained in high-risk activities such as Crane Tickets, Dogman - Rigging, EWP (cherry picker), Forklift, Full Level 2 Authority and HR (Heavy Rigid).
I’m a local boy from way back, growing up on Sydney’s beautiful northern beaches I’ve never seen much reason to leave! I live here still with my loving family, the beach, music and another love of an entirely different climate: ice hockey. But that story is for another time…
I was a bit of a tech nerd growing up, and chose IT as my vocation for a lot of years, until 2008 – something… sparked, if you’ll excuse the pun. I decided I wanted to be an electrician – I guess it meant I could still use my technical brain but also be a lot more hands-on. I took an apprenticeship where I learnt my trade, was a leading hand and responsible for running projects and overlooking staff. This experience covered a lot of ground: working in the field as a Level 2 electrician to working in the office as coordinator and design assistant. All of this would bring me to my next big career leap…
In 2015, I joined forces with Lochlan Limond to create Power 2 You – a shared vision to provide customers with the best quality service and workmanship based on honest, genuine, reasonably priced, done-right-the-first-time work ethic. It’s 100% customer satisfaction or bust.
It might be the country boy in me, but I’ve always loved working with my hands. Growing up in country NSW taught me so much about life and work that I still carry with me today: honesty, integrity, and how to set up an impressive campfire!
Unlike Tim, I felt I was a tradesman at heart from the beginning. While still studying with everyone else for my HSC, I was also a 1st year fitter/machinist at TAFE. I moved on to electrical the year after I graduated and did my apprenticeship with R&V Electrical and entered the electrical domestic market. There, I was hard-wired (hey, if Tim is going to pun…) in lighting, power points, re-wires safety switch fitting, common area lighting, phone and aerial installation.
After a few more placements, where I expanded my abilities further in security access control installation and alarm systems, electric roller shutters, lightning protection, surge protection and complex earthing, I went to Integral Energy. Here, I gained an additional trade of Overhead Linesman, preforming many tasks associated with supply of power to households and businesses.
In 2015 I joined Tim Hover in a business we are really passionate about. We plan to provide customers with an unforgettable electrical experience with superior quality at an affordable rate.
